The Butterfly Effect

“Every single thing you do matters. You have been created as one of a kind. You have been created in order to make a difference. You have within you the power to change the world.” ~ Andy Andrew ~ Our special needs are the hands by which we take hold of heaven. Each moment with each individual is a chance to make a difference in their lives . . . and, by doing so, a difference in our own.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” – Aesop

“The Butterfly Effect” has become a metaphor for the existence of seemingly insignificant moments that alter history and shape destinies. Typically unrecognized at first, they create threads of cause and effect that can change the course of a human life or ripple and change our world.

On a smaller, but no less significant scale, something as simple as sharing a smile can create a ripple effect that can change and brighten one’s day, creating a chain of events that can enhance the mood, the happiness, and the lives of everyone in its path. The Butterfly Effect can be a vehicle to “pay good deeds forward”.

The Butterfly Effect is also a metaphor for change, for transition.  Butterflies are a symbol of transformation because of their magical process of metamorphosis. Another symbol for change and transition is the Delta symbol, a triangle representing the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. If you look closely at our TRANSITIONS logo, you will see the butterfly surrounded by the Delta to represent the positive transition we are helping our clients and staff attain.

We can all make a difference in our world simply by taking the time to show love, appreciation, understanding and kindness to the people around us, pay our blessings forward, and create ripples that can change lives for the better.

We never know which of our actions will cause a change, so we must make each moment special and strive to always to create positive ripples that will improve the world.
